10 Reasons Why 2022 Is Already Wrestling's Most Insane Year EVER

'Stone Cold' comebacks, AEW > WWE jumps, Vince McMahon firing his own son and...it's February!

It's February and all this crazy sh*t is happening.

That's it, that's the intro. Okay, not really, but it could be. 2022 is already wild, and enough newsworthy stuff has happened to carry pro wrestling through until next January. Think about it: WWE legends are about to wrestle their first matches in almost 20 years (or so it seems), major stars are giving Tony Khan the ol' heave-ho in favour of Vince McMahon and... that's just the start.

Elsewhere, WCW workers from yesteryear want to bleed like they've just watched some 'Best Of CZW' tapes, Hollywood stuntmen will potentially wrestle on the biggest card of the year for cherished championships, WWE are happy to nab AEW's "forbidden door" idea, Triple H's future is up in the air and more.

Yeah, 2022 is insane.

God only knows what the next 10 months have in store. In January and Feb alone, Vinnie Mac fired his own son, brought back some heavy hitters for another run, and convinced icons to drop their morals in favour of a big fat payoff.

Here's why 2022 is already wrestling's most insane year ever...

10. Buff Bagwell Wants A Deathmatch

Well, this was unexpected.

There's no way perfectly-symmetrical pretty boy Buff Bagwell would've wanted to work deathmatches during his WCW prime. He didn't need to - Buff was "The Stuff", and was riding high as part of the nWo. All he had to do was pull a double bicep pose, work a basic match and then... visit the pay window.

Recently, Buff revealed that he'd love to bleed all over the place like he's Jon Moxley and this is CZW. Bagwell even tweeted about it, and has a 'Death Daddy' t-shirt all ready to go. In short, he's deadly (ha) serious about mixing it hardcore style for some lucky promotion very soon.

Nobody could've predicted this in 2022. Buff is 20+ years past his prime, hasn't wrestled for a major promotion since 2001, and now wants to do his best Danzig impression. One can only imagine that he spotted David Arquette's recent bloodletting and wants some of that spotlight.
