10 Reasons Why AJ Styles Won't Meet Fans' Expectations

5. He's Too Small To Win The WWE Championship

This ol' chestnut again. While it is plausible for AJ Styles to one day be the face of the WWE, it would require a similar series of ridiculous events to occur much like how the stars aligned for Rey Mysterio and Daniel Bryan. It's a common belief that the aforementioned pair winning major WWE titles means the stigma against small guys is now broken; yeah, kinda, but not really at all. At the end of the day, WWE was in a position where it simply couldn't go without placing championships on both Mysterio and Bryan. As many wrestling fans quickly figured out, Rey Mysterio's World Heavyweight Championships reign was a lovely example of WWE exploiting the death of Eddie Guerrero for them sweet, sweet ratings and merchandise sales, and it wasn't the last time the company would take advantage of Eddie's unfortunate passing. Then there's our goat-faced friend, who literally had to create a chant that would sweep across American sporting and pop culture as well as have the smark universe throw a collective tantrum over Batista's return and push, in order to get his WrestleMania moment. Sure, he won a major WWE title beforehand, but so did Jack Swagger and The Great Khali. There isn't much more that needs to be said about that.

Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
