10 Reasons Why Bobby Heenan Was The Best All-Rounder In WWE History

3. The Mouthpiece

Amongst the litany of tasks managers once dutifully performed in an era where ringside assistance was king (and in Sensational Sherri's case - Queen), the pre and post-match interview was often the most vital.

In WWE's Land Of The Giants, the bigger they were the harder they'd often fell without an accomplished speaker to get across their message before the match could do the talking.

Heenan's character was so well fleshed out that he was often given superlative stickmen to second to cement the credibility of manager and wrestler alike, but when tested with a verbally limited star, 'The Brain' unleashed his wit and wisdom with artistic assuredness.

Comical, cynical, threatening or contrite, Heenan could vent fury with the same passion he'd stir up when begging for forgiveness later in the bout. Crucial when working with the likes of The Barbarian, Haku, and The Islanders, Bobby's big statements not only gave fans a reason to hate his client, but also get behind their babyface opponent.

The simplest of methods enacted by the most proficient in the field, it was a formula that worked over and over again thanks to his unparalleled skill.
