10 Reasons Why November Always Sucked In WCW

7. Huge Lex Luger vs. Randy Savage Match Was Woefully Short

It wasn't only the 3-ring, 60-man battle royal that was a selling point for the first World War 3 Pay-Per-View. In other matches, Sting would face Ric Flair and Lex Luger would battle Randy Savage. The latter feud had been simmering ever since Luger shockingly appeared on the first episode of Monday Nitro in September, 1995. Around 2 months later, he and Savage were set to finally do battle. Looking back to episodes of Nitro from that time period, fans were hot for the idea of the 'Total Package' and the 'Macho Man' locking horns one-on-one. Luger had never been regarded as one of wrestling's best talkers, but he had more than matched Savage in that regard during the build. The prospect of a match between the pair was tasty by the time the November Pay-Per-View came around. There was just one problem, Savage was scheduled to wrestle for around 30 minutes and win the main event battle royal. This meant that his match against Luger, which had been one of the biggest rivalries in the company at that point, wouldn't be a long one. Even so, the 5 minutes offered to fans felt a bit insulting. People would have preferred some time to be shaved from the main event if it meant Luger and Savage could brawl for longer.
