10 Reasons Why NXT TakeOver: The End Was Sadly Underwhelming
9. A Quick End
Without checking the history books, I feel confident in saying this was the shortest TakeOver in NXT history. The entire show from credits to credits on the WWE Network went for only one hour and 58 minutes.
What makes that number more baffling is that The End offered rivalries worthy of longer matches. American Alpha/The Revival (16:00) and Shinsuke Nakamura/Austin Aries (17:05) were given enough time to create great matches and both parties succeeded in doing so. The same cannot be said for the remaining three bouts.
Andrade "Cien" Almas' and Tye Dillinger being limited is bad enough (5:22), but to have both singles championship matches seemingly cut short is inexcusable.
It was clear to see that Asuka and Nia Jax (9:12) were sorely in need of more time to tell their full story, certainly in comparison to Asuka/Bayley from TakeOver: Dallas (15:23). Additionally, the time limitation was just one of the factors that led to Samoa Joe and Finn Balor's final confrontation (16:10) falling short of the mark.
