10 Reasons Why Roman Reigns Must Return As A Heel
1. He'll Probably Be Great At It
Roman Reigns is not John Cena.
For more than a decade, portions of the WWE Universe (sometimes half, sometimes way more) have booed John Cena. Some members have called for him to lose his job, or even wished physical harm to befall him. Cena has taken it all in good cheer, coming to the ring with a smile on his face and encouraging fans to express themselves.
Whether Cena's just an amazing actor or he really loves the mix of opinions in the WWE Universe (or he just focuses on how many zeroes his paycheque has got), nobody can say. Still, he plays it off like a true babyface.
Roman Reigns doesn't handle it as well. Throughout Reigns's push to the top of the company, fans have been on his case, and Reigns has had a tough time hiding how much it annoys him. He drops the same lines as Cena in interviews, but he gets flustered by all of the booing - and that's great.
It shows that Reigns isn't merely a John Cena clone. It shows that when he's busting his hump, doing everything the company asks of him in order to be the top babyface, he doesn't appreciate having it thrown back in his face. It shows that Reigns is pissed off.
The best wrestling characters come from real life. If Reigns can harness all of that irritation and turn it back on the WWE Universe, he can be a hundred times more effective as a heel than he ever was as a babyface. We've already seen Reigns as a bad guy - as the cool, silent killer of The Shield.
Now that "The Guy" has come into his own as a singles star, it's time to take everything he's learned and become the best heel he can be - the best heel in the company.
Because he's damn sure not a good guy.
