10 Reasons Why Roman Reigns' WWE Heel Turn Has Been So Successful
5. The Bloodline Fell In Line
The image above is a powerful visual.
When a stable is clad in gold, it always adds an extra layer of dominance to their act. One of the most startling images from the 00's was Evolution holding all the gold and with the Usos carrying the WWE Smackdown! Tag Team Championships behind Reigns, it adds credibility to their act. Also, the Usos are arguably the greatest tag team in WWE history.
The entire storyline of the Bloodline has been a bit of a mixed bag in all honesty.
It started white hot, with Jey Uso questionning his cousin's alliance with Heyman and newfound attitude, before inexplicably winning a shot at the WWE Universal Championship. The story of Jey refusing to acknowledge his place in the foodchain was immaculately done and when Reigns assaulted an injured Jimmy inside the Hell in a Cell match, it showed vulnerability to the character.
Many wondered what would happen when Jimmy returned and for a while it seemed like he would draw Jey back from the darkside and we would see them break free from Reigns' tyranny. But then it just kind of stopped and the Usos won the belts and pledged loyalty to their Tribal Chief.
Whilst that feels like a dropped ball, the image of the Bloodline running both the singles and the tag divisions, along with Jimmy and Jey effectively bowing to Reigns, has only helped build this fantastic heel turn.
