From D-Generation X to Evolution to The Authority, Triple H has been involved in factions for a majority of his WWE career. But one thing that has remained consistent has been how he simply can never be trusted.

In 2002, his DX reunion with Shawn Michaels was short-lived because he turned on his former friend in shocking fashion. In 2004, he ousted Randy Orton from Evolution. Orton suffered a similar fate years later when Triple H kicked him out of The Authority. In each of these instances, HHH grew increasingly envious of how big of stars HBK and Orton were becoming at those times. He couldn't handle being outshined.

His mentorship with Seth Rollins has been no different. When he enlisted him in June 2014, he saw Rollins as a future face of the company, his way of dismantling The Shield when no one else could. But he could not have ever imagined The Man reaching the level of success that he has, and once he returns, he will be determined to destroy the monster he himself created.
