10 Reasons Why Seth Rollins Vs. Triple H Feud Makes Perfect Sense
2. Seth Rollins Has Proven He Doesn't Need The Authority Anymore
The story heading into last year's Money in the Bank pay-per-view event was that Seth Rollins was out to show the world he could retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship without any outside assistance from The Authority. For months, the likes of Kane, J&J Security and Triple H had helped him maintain his possession of the prestigious prize, but at Money in the Bank 2015, he was all alone in his Ladder match with Dean Ambrose.
When he successfully retained the title (albeit barely) that night, he proved not only to the WWE Universe but to himself that he was fully capable of flourishing on his own. Throughout the rest of his reign as champion, he set back challenges from Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Neville Sting and Kane, all without interference from The Authority. There was almost a question of why he was still with them if he no longer needed Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to keep his spot on top.
Now, that fact is more evident than ever. Rollins said himself recently on Raw that he won't need anyone's help in regaining the gold he never lost. If he doesn't get the job done on Sunday, it's possible Triple H throws that line back in his face once he resurfaces.
