9. Helps WCW Nostalgia On WWE Network
When the WWE Network launched, the company made a lot of noise about the idea of fans having access to virtually every pay-per-view ever. That lineup didn't stop at WWF/WWE shows, there were also ECW events and WCW ones too. This is a huge selling point for the subscription service, and an absolute dream come true for those who enjoy nostalgia. Bringing the name of World Championship Wrestling back into the current WWE vernacular would feasibly only help the numbers those WCW pay-per-views pull on demand. Older fans would be enthused by the idea of seeing an old favourite return, whereas younger viewers would be intrigued to find out more about the history of the brand. That's a win-win situation for WWE, because let's not forget they own the WCW name. Therefore, they should be happy to see it do well, looking for opportunities to capitalise on the name value and history of the promotion. Turning Raw into a WCW show - even temporarily - would be a risk, but it could be one that only helps the numbers the Network pulls.
