10 Reasons Why WWE Must Turn John Cena Heel Immediately

5. The Promos Would Be Unreal

He may not always be working with the best material, but John Cena is a one-of-a-kind promo. When he's serious, focused, and talking straight to an opponent with no nonsense, there's nobody - not even Paul Heyman - who's better at promoting a match. That ability helped make Cena a star early in his career, and as his in-ring skills caught up to his charisma, his promos became even more confident and powerful. With all that said, it's amazing to think that we've never really heard Cena cut a heel promo in his current style. The last time he was a heel he was still using his hip-hop-inspired gimmick, and his interviews were delivered in rap form. Today he's an entirely different character, and his promos reflect that. Cena's at his best when he's intense, and one can only imagine him cutting a scathing, venomous promo on a beloved babyface - or on the fans, as he explains his actions and takes them to task for years of disrespect. Plus, even his infamous, annoying "smiling John" interviews would gain a new dimension if Cena were a heel. Still, whether furious or smarmy, Cena would have no trouble talking fans into arenas.
