AJ and Paige's victory over the Bella twins was hardly the worst divas match we've ever seen at WrestleMania, but it fell into the same old trap of being largely unremarkable. It's a shame, especially as the promotion probably has the most talented pool of female performers to choose from since the glory days of Stratus and Lita. The problem here isn't in-ring quality, however. It's fan interest. Divas are consistently given incredibly short, uninspiring feuds which peter out after a week or two, paying little attention to continuity or character development. The women's match commonly regarded as the finest in WrestleMania history, Trish Stratus vs Mickey James, revolved around an incredibly strong feud, drawn out and developed over the course of months. Crucially, it was also for a championship title, rather than a meaningless throwaway match in the dead spot of the card.
