10 Reasons WrestleMania 33 Could Have Been The Best Ever
4. Kurt Angle Could Have Been Used
Kurt Angle is back in WWE for the first time in over a decade, and what is he going to do at WrestleMania? Nothing. At least that we know of.
Over the past few years, fans have come to expect legends like Sting and Goldberg stepping back in the ring if they’re able to after making deals with WWE. But if Angle can’t pass WWE’s physical, then there's nothing they can do. However, he hasn’t even taken a test to this point. The thought of him competing at 'Mania doesn’t seem to have even been discussed behind-the-scenes in a serious way, which is completely bizarre.
Of course, fans don’t want to see only part-timers in key spots at the show, but most would make an exception for the Olympic gold medalist. He’s one of the most entertaining acts in WWE history, and he’s still competing at a high level on the indy scene. Having him take on A.J. Styles, John Cena, or even Triple H would have made the show that much bigger.
Or, they could have had him host the show over New Day. We see New Day every damn week, and 90% of the time their material is derivative. It would be more interesting to see Angle going face-to-face once again with Hunter in a backstage segment rather than watching Big E lick an ice cream bike. Maybe that's just personal preference.
Angle would have added some extra intrigue to 'Mania, but instead they “debuted” him on an episode of Bring it to the Table. An odd choice. If he does end up wrestling down the line in a WWE ring, then it will be even more baffling to have not put him in the ring for the granddaddy of them all.
