One of the biggest problems with WWE in the past year has been there lack of main event options. They have been way too over-reliant on the same people.

That's why it makes sense to take Reigns in a whole new direction. By feuding with Styles, he's going to elevate him. That isn't to say that the challenger is going to win, but he's undoubtedly going to come out of it more over even in a loss. He'll have main evented a PPV, and come close to the WWE Title. It adds credibility.

Reigns will have given him the rub.

In the wider feud of Reigns against the IWC, he can then do the same for Owens, Zayn and Balor. He'll be defeating them, but he'll be making them look big league just by association. They'll be NXT superstars no longer, instead they'll be WWE PPV main eventers.
