10 Reasons WWE Champion John Cena Must Lose To Brock Lesnar At SummerSlam
5. Lesnar Winning Is The Bigger Story
There is no doubting Cena's star power and name recognition in this era of pro wrestling, but there is also no doubting Lesnar's star power carries much more weight in the mainstream sports world, thanks to his non-WWE accomplishments. Whether it's his NCAA National Championship in amateur wrestling, his attempt to play for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League, or his UFC Heavyweight Title reign, Lesnar gets coverage in mainstream sports media. When he does something, you'll see it reported on ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and so forth. A Brock Lesnar victory will, chances are, have that crossover appeal. You'll probably see footage of the victory on ESPN's SportsCenter, and it will be mentioned throughout mainstream sports websites, even ones that don't normally discuss wrestling. That's the kind of attention and promotion you'd want, and should be looking for, if you're WWE. Any extra eyeballs looking at the product could be incredibly beneficial to the company, especially at this time of year, with the NFL only a couple weeks away from returning and taking away large chunks of television viewers every Monday night.
