10 Reasons WWE Fans Should Be Worried About The Women’s Revolution

7. The WWE Womens’ Tag Team Titles

Remember the genuine pride that seemed to radiate from Sasha Banks and Bayley when they became inaugural winners of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles? You should remember: it was mere months ago.

The Elimination Chamber match for the titles just about managed to give the division the illusion of sufficient depth. Plus Banks and Bayley’s promise to defend the belts across Raw, SmackDown and NXT was genuinely tantalising with Io Shirai and Kairi Sane riding high in NXT at the time.

There was even talking of bringing back Trish Stratus and Lita for a WrestleMania dream match. Since then, the belts have been devalued at such a speed it is almost impressive.

Putting the belts on the IIconics at ‘Mania didn’t help but it needn’t have been the death knell. Not if they had the pair cheat at every turn to retain the belts or dodge title challenges from babyface tandems - anything to make the titles actually seem valued and desirable.

Instead, they’ve not really bothered to have The IIconics defend the titles at all and they now seem like the sort of pointless trinkets Alundra Blayze would happily chuck in a waste paper bin.
