10 Reasons WWE Fans Should Boycott WrestleMania 31

7. The Midcard Is A Mess

Since the creative team seems to have the attention span of a fruit fly lately, the midcard as become a breeding ground for frustration and confusion instead of the breeding ground for stars of the future. Take, for example, the Intercontinental title. Once seen as a stepping stone to the main event, feuds over the Intercontinental title propelled guys like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Steve Austin, the Rock, and Chris Jericho into the main event scene and turned them into superstars. Nowadays, the Intercontinental title is used as a reason to job someone out to everyone else on the roster because, hey, they have a title so they're obviously important. The secondary titles are completely useless and hold zero value in the eyes of the fanbase. Meanwhile, other people's pushes seem to start and stop with no rhyme or reason that fans cane come up with. Take Cesaro for instance: Last year, he won the inaugural Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and bodyslammed the Big Show over the top rope in a move reminiscent of Hulk Hogan slamming Andre at Wrestlemania III. Cesaro was even endorsed by Hogan at the trophy presentation ceremony and he looked to be on his way to the upper card. Then, the rug was pulled out from under him. No reason was ever given except for Vince's appearance on Stone Cold's podcast where he said that Cesaro hadn't found a connection to the audience yet. Nevermind the fact that Cesaro was getting great crowd reactions (for his position on the card) and is one of the best workers in the company, in Vince's world, he needed de-pushed. The midcard is a nice summation of the company in general: Zero upward mobility and confusion by the fans.
