10 Reasons WWE Feels UNDERWHELMING in 2026

One of the highlights from Triple H vehicle WWE Unreal was seeing that Iyo Sky is just as fantastic a person as she is a wrestler. Head Honcho HHH (HHHHH?) best summed up Iyo's brilliance when he said that, if he had to start over from scratch, he'd be fine as long as he had Iyo around. 

All of which leads you to wonder how the former Io Shirai has become symptomatic of WWE's recent booking woes.

Despite being someone you could allegedly build a company around, Iyo's 2026 has fallen short of the esteem in which she's held. Her Queen of the Ring win led to a big dollop of nothing, as Liv Morgan's one notable title defense came at Iyo's expense at SummerSlam. This has resulted in Iyo not just falling down the card, but seemingly off the face of the Earth. Heck, the above image is the most recent one of Iyo Sky in WhatCulture's media library, as WWE have done absolutely nothing with the uber-talented superstar since she was booked to crash her head once again on the company's glass ceiling.

Iyo's hardly the only superstar who WWE have booked poorly despite getting incredibly over, but she remains the starkest example of the difference between how a WWE superstar is perceived in the business, and how she's actually treated by the people in charge of the book.
