The idea of a brand split is that the separate shows are supposed to feel separate. That means having different points of payoff for different angles. That's the idea of brand-exclusive PPVs: a RAW show should feel different from a SmackDown PPV because the different storylines have their own unique place to pay off. And then, when you have a Big 4 PPV like SummerSlam or WrestleMania, it feels more special because the gang's all here.
If the gang's all here each and every month, it doesn't feel special anymore to have RAW and SmackDown talent together. You just end up asking why they're arbitrarily separated. Moreover, if you keep switching between commentary teams or end up doing a joint commentary unit for all shows, everything will feel incredibly same-y, which is the opposite of what you want when it comes to a brand split.
Ending the separation of the rosters will remove the feeling of pointlessness that will now loom over the brand split.
