10 Reasons WWE Need To End The Brand Split (Again)
5. WWE Feels Smaller
The idea of having separate rosters with separate storylines is that you're able to give more characters more screentime and make WWE feel like a much bigger world. But in practice, we've had the opposite effect. WWE now just feels smaller and less impactful than in the days when all the roster was united. It doesn't help when the shows copy each other. Take for example the women who recently debuted on both shows. On RAW, you have Absolution: a trio that is wreaking havoc on RAW's women's division. And on SmackDown, you have the Riott Squad... a trio that is wreaking havoc on SmackDown's women's division.
Such havoc could be better felt if there was only one stable that attacked all the women across both shows, but instead, everything just feels like small fish playing in small ponds. With diminished talent pools, superstars are forced into meandering feuds that lose their dynamic quickly, and we the fans are left with a stale, uninvolved product.
