10 Reasons WWE Should Renew Brock Lesnar's Expiring Contract
9. Crossover Appeal
Lesnar was a genius when it came to marketing himself and he may just have Paul Heyman to thank for that. Heyman looked out for Lesnar when he managed Brock back in 2002, showing him the ropes of the business and helping him survive in an industry that destroys many young lives. Heyman also stayed involved with Lesnar when he made the jump to the UFC in the mid-2000s. Brock quickly rose to superstar status in the UFC because of his professional wrestling background. He was unique because he was a pro wrestler and that made him an instant heel when it came to the MMA crowd. Naturally, Brock played into this heel character and became one of the most polarizing figures in MMA history by cutting wrestling promos before and after his fights. Now, Lesnar is unique in professional wrestling because he's a mixed martial arts fighter. He has stayed relevant because he has gone against the grain in both sports that he's participated in. A Lesnar MMA fight intrigued wrestling fans much like a Lesnar wrestling match intrigues MMA fans. If Lesnar gets a few more sets of eyeballs on WWE television because MMA fans recognise him from his UFC days, then that's better for WWE's bottom line.
