6. Comments About Women

It wasn’t even five minutes into the first Republican presidential debate last year when Donald Trump was asked about some of the offensive, sexist comments he had made about women. Trump proceeded to make a joke of it, refused to back down, and then later insulted the female moderator by implying she was on her period during the debate.

While the common image of a typical WWE fan would be a young male, there are millions of female wrestling fans, as evidenced by the surging popularity of women wrestlers like Charlotte, Paige, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, women who are attractive, but are popular for their skills and talents in the ring.

Add in that WWE’s chief brand officer is a woman – Stephanie McMahon – and you can see where this is going.

It’s clear the former beauty pageant owner has a woman problem. And it’s clear that WWE is trying to appeal to a broader audience and pull in women, rather than push them away. Trump might not be active with WWE, but again, if you’re a publicly traded, family entertainment company trying to attract viewers and fans, why would you continue to associate with him?
