As wrestling fans, we know the product is a work. But we want to suspend our disbelief to sink our teeth into what we see on TV. To do this, we need less "wrestling angles" and more segments that leave us asking "was that real or part of the script?"

WWE has done a better job this year with shows and stories that provoke real emotion from fans. Such examples include Miz and Daniel Bryan on Talking Smack, where the unscripted nature of the program allowed for The Miz to shine on the mic defending himself from the words of Daniel Bryan. This show has been a breath of fresh air in terms of providing a stage for the superstars to be in character, yet be unscripted to allow their own creative juices to flow through.

Storyline examples of shoot presentations include Brock Lesnar bludgeoning Randy Orton with a series of elbows that busted The Viper wide open, leaving many of us (including Chris Jericho) to surmise that Lesnar went into business for himself. Or the Shane McMahon return storyline where he mentioned how poor the product had been and that the ratings and stock suffered as a result of creative. The stories that provide real facts and scenarios are the ones that work best. As fans, we want reality with our entertainment. 2016 has given us that for sure.
