WWE rightly had reservations about Rusev as a talker when he made the jump from NXT to the main roster. Lana was paired with him back in their developmental days to be his mouthpiece, and what a job she did. Looking back, she's as close to a female Paul Heyman that we've seen in WWE. She was excellent. However, since becoming more than just a killer heel, Rusev has proved that he can be entertaining as hell on the mic. His English isn't very good, which adds to his charm, but he can hold his own in a verbal battle against the very best in the company. He's a hoot! Because of this, Lana is now no longer integral to the Rusev character. Since he has proved he can talk, Lana has been reduced to the ditzy valet that just gets in the way. How original was it to see her faking injury to help Rusev win? I mean, could the WWE's fabled creative teams not come up with anything more compelling for her to sink her teeth in to? I write the following sentence with the heaviest of hearts, but Lana is now a disposable commodity in WWE. It's sad, but it's true.
