10 Reasons WWE WrestleMania 39 Weekend Absolutely SUCKED
5. The Profits Soar, Then Crash.
The Men's WrestleMania Tag Team Showcase was a surprise highlight of Night One - a thrill-a-minute rollercoaster that electrified the audience and gave each participant a chance to shine.
The follow-up on Monday Night RAW? Not so much.
We are seriously struggling to comprehend the logic behind having the Street Profits go over on WrestleMania, only to have them immediately blow their shot two days later on RAW. It smacks of the short-term thinking that has blighted WWE over the years (and yes, we'll be discussing the cause of that before this article's over), and made us wonder why the Profits won in the first place.
The winners of the Showcase were always going to fall to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who still have a long way to go in their war against the recently-deposed Usos. As such, it would have made more sense to have the heelish Alpha Academy come out on top in the showcase, as they could have absorbed the loss to KO and Zayn with minimal fuss and it would have provided the RAW match with a clear heel-face dynamic.
"Don't put top babyfaces against each other" is booking 101, and the fact that WWE fail to realise that is a worrying sign for the future.
