10 Reasons WWE's Brock Lesnar Experiment Has Failed
5. Uneventful In-Ring Work
He's been known for years as one of the most athletically gifted people on the planet...and he still is. But the athleticism isn't coming across like it should in the WWE for Brock Lesnar. His in-ring style isn't what it used to be and it's hampering the reaction from the live crowd. Fans who expected to see the Lesnar of old are witnessing a slower, more calculated style involving a lot of high impact moves at a snails pace. Whether it is by design or not, Lesnar hasn't exactly been exciting in the ring. It shouldn't be surprising that his best match since his return was his 2013 Match of the Year candidate against CM Punk at SummerSlam 2013. Punk has been known to bring out the best in his opponents and it was no different when it came to Lesnar. The majority of his other matches since his return have been pretty slow and lacking any real work rate. Lesnar improved week after week in WWE from 2002-2004. As his run continued, he adapted to the in-ring styles of many other pro wrestlers who were better than him. Ask any wrestler or expert on pro wrestling: you get better when you work against wrestlers who are better than you. Working consistently against guys like Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, The Undertaker and others helped to move Lesnar's in-ring career in a positive direction. At the moment, Lesnar comes in, wrestles a match and in the majority of cases, doesn't wrestle another one for a few months.
