10 Reasons WWE's Brock Lesnar Experiment Has Failed

4. Lack Of WWE Network Subscriptions

WWE had to have believed that Brock Lesnar becoming WWE Champion at SummerSlam would have enticed people to subscribe to the WWE Network to see his various title defenses. The major problem with that theory: Lesnar has only defended the championship once so far in a rematch against John Cena at Night of Champions. According to the 3rd-Quarter conference call that took place recently, WWE gained just 31,000 subscribers and are making major changes to the service enticing people to sign up for free in the month of November. They've also dropped the six-month commitment and are allowing people to pay on a month-to-month basis at just $9.99 per month. Will Brock Lesnar's run as WWE Champion cause a larger increase in WWE Network Subscribers for the final quarter of the year? Word on the street is that Lesnar may not appear much on WWE television or even defend the WWE Championship again until after the end of the year. For such an important fiscal quarter for the long-term success of WWE, wouldn't it be wise to have your WWE Champion mega-star featured on the programming more often? Brock should be on every single WWE pay-per-view, especially the upcoming Survivor Series, which will be a night that every member of the WWE Universe can have the opportunity to watch free on the WWE Network. Nevertheless, WrestleMania 31 will be a crucial night for the success of the WWE Network. We are still a few months away, but the feeling right now is that Brock Lesnar will have a huge position on that show. This will be the final opportunity for WWE to see if their experiment with Brock Lesnar has been worth what it has cost them.
