10 Reasons Why WWF Vs WCW Invasion Angle Failed

7. There Were Far Too Many Championships

It seemed like everybody was holding a championship of some kind and every week at least one championship was changing hands. Since WWE brought the WCW titles over along with the talent that joined the roster, they had double the amount of gold. The problem with having too many titles around is that when somebody wins one of them it doesn't mean a whole lot because there were about ten titles available to be won. People went from one set of tag titles to another. The Cruiserweight Champions feuded with Light Heavyweight Champions. The same could be said about the US and IC Titles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFktHla3NKE It was the same group of people competing for everything and none of the wins really mattered because of it. There were ten different championships up for grabs for male competitors plus the Women's Title as well. To WWE's credit, they did treat the WCW World Title as a big deal. When The Rock main evented SummerSlam 2001 against Booker T he won the WCW World Title. Then Rock dropped it to Chris Jericho, which was a huge thing for Jericho because it was his first major World Title win. As most fans know, they merged the WCW Title with the WWE Title to create the Undisputed Title, but then later in 2002 they brought the WCW Title back as the World Title. Confused? So were we!
