10 Reasons Why WWF Vs WCW Invasion Angle Failed

5. Buff Bagwell Was A Bad Choice To Showcase WCW

When WWE decided to put on a WCW match on the July 2, 2001 edition of Raw they made the wrong choice. It was a very bad decision to put Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell as the WCW showcase match. Why? Because Bagwell was never that good. Booker T wasn't the problem. He went on to be a WWE Hall of Famer and will always be a part of the company. Bagwell was the problem. Maybe WWE wanted to put on a bad match as a way to bury WCW before they could really get going, but that wouldn't have made much sense. It should have been a match like Booker T vs. Lance Storm, who is a much better worker than Bagwell, or perhaps even a tag match featuring cruiserweight wrestlers. Anything would have been better than what they did in that ring. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1qsf8_booker-t-vs-buff-bagwell-wcw-title_sport The best thing about the match was the end of it because Kurt Angle and Steve Austin walked out to the ring and beat both guys up. Then they sent both guys out of the building. Booker did return to WWE soon after while Bagwell was out of WWE after one night. At least WWE made the right call in never bringing Bagwell back.
