10 Reasons You Need To Be Watching Impact Wrestling Right Now
6. Opportunities For Everyone
Rich Swann was held back in WWE because of his small stature. Now, he's set to challenge for the World Championship on Impact's biggest show of the year. EC3 did sod all in WWE once reaching the main roster, and his NXT tenure didn't have too much to write home about either. Deonna Purrazzo didn't even get out of the jobber role in NXT.
The point here is that certain talents have fallen victim to the booking team of their previous promotion that prevented their careers from going anywhere. Now that they're in Impact, however, they have that much-needed opportunity to reach those high places they were once held back from.
Take Heath for example. He spent a decade and a half under the WWE banner without ever really having a big break, aside from The Nexus and a handful of meaningless runs as Tag Team Champion. While he hasn't officially signed an Impact contract yet (in storyline, anyway), the story that's been told has been endlessly intriguing, for the most part.
We'll get on to this more in-depth in a later point, but Impact are never afraid to test something out to see what works and what doesn't. It's a daredevil move to take when you're a national promotion, but it's a strategy that works.
