10 Reasons You Need To Start Watching Impact Again

4. New Faces

Impact doesn’t have a ton of money. That’s not exactly a well kept secret in the wrestling industry. Because of their constant financial woes, they’ve lost one top name after the next recently. Long time main-eventers in EC III, James Storm and Bobby Lashley have all departed in the past six months.

This hasn’t been a complete loss though. As good as Storm and EC III were in the promotion, there wasn’t much left for them to do. And with their hefty contracts out of the way, Impact has been able to bring in a slew of fresh faces who have made the product more interesting. There’s a vibe that anyone can show up at anytime.

Since late 2017, the Impact zone has been introduced to the likes of Brian Cage, Su Yung, Hania (well, that one didn’t last long), Tessa Blanchard, Fenix, Drago, Aerostar and Jimmy Jacobs. Former veterans in Austin Aries, Petey Williams and Matt Sydal have all returned as well. Then there's lesser known names like Fallah Bahh, who could be the next version of Rikishi from 2000 (that’s a good thing). All in all, their roster is solid.

If you watch WWE, you know who you’re going to get on a week to week basis. SmackDown has virtually the same 25 characters on every single week. With Impact, new wrestlers are a regular occurrence. This helps stave off over-saturation and makes the show a bit more exciting to watch.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
