6. He'll Soon Take Over The Comic Book Movie World
The Rock has dominated the action genre, breathing new life into the Fast And Furious and G.I. Joe franchises, while also starring in a number of other hits which have seen him kick ass and take names. However, ever since his acting career began, fans have wondered when he might take a crack at playing a superhero. For years, everyone from Luke Cage to Lobo were rumoured to be his, but it turns out that The Rock will be going down a different route. He's set to play anti-hero Black Adam in Shazam, an upcoming DC Comics adaptation currently set to be released in 2019. The villain of that movie, Black Adam - a character who The Rock is a long time fan of - is a former slave with God-like magical powers. Marvel might currently have a head start on Warner Bros. and their DC movie plans, but having The Rock in their corner is a huge win, as will be the box office records should they eventually decide to pit Black Adam against the Justice League on the big screen.
