Returning to The Land of All Elite, and to the backstage skirmish that has been hogging headlines for the better part of two months.

Your writer is of course talking about the surreal moment when then-recently-crowned AEW World Champion opted to start shooting from the hip with one hand, whilst scoffing sweet treats with the other, post-All Out 2022.

And if burying your co-workers and blasting the promotion's EVPs as "irresponsible people" who "spread lies" and "bullsh*t" wasn't pushing it far enough for CM Punk on the night of September 4, the locker room showdown that would soon follow likely acted as the point of no return for The Best in the World.

In the wake of all involved in what has now become infamously known as Brawl Out being suspended for a time, the fact that The Elite are now back on AEW programming, Ace Steel has been released, and the promotion are said to be in the midst of negotiating a buy-out of Punk's contract speaks volumes about who the company seem to think was in the wrong on the night.

But with Punk still out with a triceps injury, it still remains to be seen what his future holds in-between the ropes.
