10 Recent Wrestler Pitches WWE Turned Down
1. Mickie's Real Women's Revolution
Much has been written about the recent controversy surrounding Mickie James and her recent release. It was James who revealed to the world how WWE deals with its released superstars, and trash-bag-gate will reverberate around the wrestling world for years to come. It is a disrespectful way to treat a rookie, let alone a veteran and icon who will eventually find her name in the WWE Hall of Fame.
In the coming months, it isn't unreasonable to predict that more will be written about Mickie's pitch for an all-female television show, a pitch that was shot down ostensibly because 'women's wrestling doesn't make money.' Brave words, whoever said that, although you could also say they were stupid words. Women's wrestling doesn't make money? Nonsense.
Keep in mind this is a company that has never been quiet about its dislike for junior heavyweight wrestling, yet 205 Live exists. No matter the figures behind the above opinion, there's absolutely no reason for WWE to not have an all-female show at this point. Alas, Mickie's idea was shot down.
It's a better idea than pitching having an actual skeleton in her closet, that's for sure.
