WWE: 10 Wrestlers Who Had Multiple Finishing Moves

2. Edge

Finishers: Downward Spiral (1998), Spear (1999-retirement), Edgecution (1998-2002), and Edgecator (2001-2005). When the troubled-soul Edge first entered the WWF in 1998, he finished his opponents off with The Downward Spiral, a reverse STO invented by WCW wrestler Kanyon. Teaming at the time with Gangrel, Edge "borrowed" the vampire's finishing move- The Impaler DDT- and eventually rechristened it The Edgecution. He also added a submission move to his list of finisher, inventing the Edgecator, a kneeling inverted sharpshooter. But no matter what move he invented or stole, the finisher that the crowd reacted loudest to was always the Spear. With Edge's lean body, the Spear did not always fit him as well as it did bigger athletes like Goldberg, Rhyno, or Roman Reigns. But Edge made it work, with chants of "Spear" accompanying Edge's matches, most notably during the build to his WrestleMania 26 World Title match against Chris Jericho. But if there is one spear that is most remembered by fans of the R-Rated Superstar, it is Edge's spear off of the ladder to a hanging Jeff Hardy at WrestleMania 17. That spear even out-does Edge's spear to Mick Foley at WrestleMania 22, through the ropes, into a flaming table at ringside. Edge found success with the spear, and kept it as his bread-and-butter throughout the later years of his career.
