Erick Rowan, the tall, bearded, ugly, bald man from the backwoods-dwelling Wyatt Family would probably work better as a sympathy-garnering, awkwardly smiling, lovable "good guy". That's apparently what WWE was thinking in late 2014 when they inexplicably split up The Wyatt Family and decided to make Erick Rowan a babyface.

The Wyatt Family may not have been firing on all cylinders at this time, but it may have had more to do with the string of losses their leader had sustained over the past year. Add to that the fact that there never seemed to be any payoff to Bray's long and rambling interview segments in which he proclaimed to have the whole world in his hands. All bark and no bite.

The Wyatts definitely needed a boost, but splintering their core and turning the guy that wore the creepy lamb mask "good" was not it.

Needless to say, WWE realised their mistakes not long after pulling the trigger on this ill-conceived notion, and both Erick Rowan and Luke Harper were once again paired with Bray, reuniting as The Wyatt Family in 2015.
