10 Recently Revealed WWE Ideas That Were Pitched And Went Nowhere
7. Jeff Hardy’s Twilight Zone
Jeff Hardy returned to the ring earlier this year after missing nearly a full year due to knee surgery, with WWE now behind him in a big way. Hardy appeared on After The Bell and let it be known he wants to face Bray Wyatt somewhere down the line, revealing a bizarre pitch he had for the two that WWE creative doesn’t seem to be in any rush to do anytime soon:-
"I've got some crazy, cool ideas. Beth (Jeff’s wife) helped me with this one, what if there was something like the Twilight Zone because back when we did The Hardy Show, we had this thing called the 'Wilight Zone' sort of like a spoof Twilight Zone. What if he beat me and put me under the ring and all of sudden I'm in the Fun House but I'm in a black and white TV then all of a sudden like the Twilight Zone. Then Beth was like what if it was the Flylight Zone? We can do it like you're trying to get out of the black and white TV. I'm just crazy about crazy creativity like that just throwing out a pitch and seeing if it sticks."
It wouldn’t be the first time Jeff’s encountered Bray or the first time Bray’s scrapped with a Hardy Boy. Matt Hardy deleted Bray Wyatt in The Ultimate Deletion at the Hardy Compound in a Raw main event with Matt’s usual cast of characters - Vanguard 1, Senor Benjamin, the dilapidated boat, the Lake of Reincarnation and even Jeff who scared the holy hell out of Bray.
Jeff also pitched an idea for his final match, saying Brock Lesnar of all people to be his possible final opponent before he retires:-
"I would love to get my ass kicked by Lesnar again because he's just intimidating and insanely gifted. To be as successful as he was in the MMA world, he's amazing. That would be interesting, man. Maybe that could be my last match. I was his first match, he could be my last match."
Please God let Brock Lesnar be involved in some Hardy madness.
