Batista's WWE career was almost over as soon as it began.

After a brief stint as "Deacon Batista" on SmackDown, the future Guardian of the Galaxy was given the opportunity of a lifetime when he was chosen to join Triple H's Evolution stable in 2003.

The Animal's fortune changed quickly though when he suffered a torn tricep in a match against The Dudley Boyz. After a while on the sidelines, Batista began training before his in-ring return. However, he clearly overdid it in the gym, as he re-tore the tricep muscles, forcing WWE to rethink their plans once again.

Now, you'd think that this would doom Batista, especially considering Vince McMahon's reluctance to push injury-prone wrestlers. However, this was not the case, as Batista came back in a big way.

The Animal collected a $100,000 reward from Triple H after taking out Goldberg, whom The Game was feuding with at the time. Just two months later in December, Batista won the World Tag Team Championships alongside Ric Flair.

Clearly Vince McMahon's rules don't apply if you're 6' 6".
