10 Ridiculous Stephanie McMahon Ego Trips

5. Champion

To be fair to the 'Billion Dollar Princess', there was nothing inherently wrong in affording her a condescendingly brief Women's Title reign, not least whilst she accompanied husband and WWE Champion Triple H to ringside in their turn of the century power couple personas.

However, the key word in the above atonement is 'brief'. McMahon's reign was anything but.

Taking the title from the rock solid Jacqueline just 24 hours removed from her liberation of the maligned strap from one-note-joke Hervina, Stephanie was aided by copious amounts of interference that could have justified some choice rematches with the Texan hard-hitter.

Instead, the title became little more than the most ostentatious piece of jewellery she had. Flaunting the title as if it were remotely anything more than a prop whilst the remaining women in the ever-decreasing division has absolutely nothing to fight for, she held on to the gold for an astonishing 146 days before finally putting over Lita as Team Extreme's queen began her first reign as Champion.

It was Lita's third attempt at the title, having lost twice in virtual non-matches totalling less than two minutes cumulatively and were riddled with interference. They Stephanie's only other defences of the title during her six month reign.
