However, Dalton has pulled it off in a company that is known not for gimmicks and fancy entrances, but for its wrestling. Dalton Castle shouldn’t work in ROH, yet he somehow does.

So how does he do it? Well, by being better at it than everyone else. Dalton plays that gimmick to perfection and from the elaborate fans to his Boys, he has every inch of it nailed. Then there’s the fact that he can wrestle. Since turning up in ROH, he has held his own against the likes of Colt Cabana and has even had a chance to compete for the ROH Title. He is far from being a weak link in the ring.

With WWE still being a fan of the occasional daft gimmick, signing Castle almost looks like a no brainer. He’s everything that they want, but rather than being shoehorned into it, he’s already doing it and doing it well. In a situation where many would flounder, he has proven that he can flourish.
