WWE hyperbole will always look back on the 1995 Royal Rumble fondly. The sole reason for that glassy-eyed nostalgia is down to the fact that Shawn Michaels entered the 30-man match first and lasted the whole way to the end. Come time for the pay-per-view to fade out, Michaels was presented as a man who could overcome anything.

There was just one problem with this concept: Shawn had won the entire Rumble in just under 39 minutes. 'The Showstopper' can't be blamed for the bout's brevity, but this wasn't quite the Herculean effort management wanted people to think it was in the immediate aftermath.

Yes, Michaels did enter as #1 and outlast the other 29 men. Whilst that can never be taken away, this was the shortest Royal Rumble ever. Vince McMahon had decided to cut down time between entrants to just 60 seconds, hyping up the match as the 'fastest' yet.

This was likely due to a lack of real star power on the roster, another glaring fact hurting Shawn's first Rumble win.
