10 Saddest TNA Departures

8. Monty Brown

Monty Brown may have not put in the years in TNA that others have on this list, but he represented one of the few homegrown talents that could have broken out as a top star. There was simply no one else quite like The Alpha Male in all of wrestling. He borrowed traits from The Rock, but then turned that style on its head, delivering bizarre but entertaining promos.

Inside the ring, Brown wasnt exactly an in-ring technician, but the company needed a non-former WWE or WCW guy to build around, and he would have been a solid choice. However, TNA got shy on giving him a world title run, and when a great opportunity came to switch the gold to him they caved, and Jeff Jarrett retained in a screwy finish. That was basically his peak, and he later joined Double Js stable in completely a forgettable run.

Unfortunately for TNA, WWE came calling for Brown and picked him up, which left a hole in the heart of TNA the size of the Serengeti.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
