5. Chris Jericho

Although he wasn't around for most of the year, Chris Jericho's first five months of 2017 in WWE were simply too good to ignore.

Jericho kicked off last year by winning the United States Championship (becoming a Grand Slam champion in the process) and continued to create magic with his "best friend" Kevin Owens every week on Raw. The aforementioned Festival of Friendship segment from February was one of the most memorable things to occur on WWE TV all year, but the rest of Jericho's run was also enjoyable.

Once he returned as a beloved babyface, the ruthless rivalry between himself and Owens heading into (and coming out of) WrestleMania was riveting and brought the best out of both men. Y2J then took a leave of absence from WWE after losing the United States title to Owens on the 2 May episode of SmackDown Live, only to resurface for one night only on 25 July, where he took on Owens and AJ Styles in a terrific Triple Threat match.

WWE better hope Jericho gets over the NJPW bug and instead comes back to the company to save us all again.
