10 Scrappiest WWE Underdogs

7. Maven

Another Tough Enough winner, Maven lasted longer than most, despite a skill set limited to looking pretty and delivering a really nice dropkick. His first feud, a miniature grudge with Taz, set up his stall: he would be the perennial new kid, trying to make a name for himself in the face of relentless bullying. And then came his entry into the 2002 Royal Rumble, and one of the biggest upsets that match has ever seen: Maven eliminated the Undertaker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYZoGACeqt4 The enraged Big Evil beat Maven all the way back to the locker room and the match continued for everyone else. However, technically the rookie hadn€™t been eliminated - just thrown through the ropes - and the following night on RAW, he was awarded a match for Chris Jericho€™s Undisputed Championship, on the basis that he€™d been prevented from continuing in the Rumble. Maven would, of course, lose that match, and then take another post-match beating from the Dead Man. The following week, however, Maven would face the Undertaker for his Hardcore Championship, and (with some judicious assistance from The Rock and Tough Enough trainer Al Snow, was successful in beating him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sJlkaMgK8Q Maven wouldn€™t get much of an opportunity on television again - there was a moment in late 2004 when he€™d be part of the winning team at Survivor Series, and get a title shot against Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship, but the match was shot through with interference, and still the outcome wasn€™t in any doubt: 2004 Triple H didn€™t do jobs to undercarders.
