A cruiserweight holdover from WCW, Gregory Helms developed his comedy superhero alter ego The Hurricane once hed debuted for the WWF - and for the most part, audiences loved his po-faced heroics and refusal to back down from a clear mismatch. Helms was so much fun in the role that he managed to get over despite repeated losses. Finally, he was rewarded for all his hard work by being booked into a small feud with the companys biggest star, The Rock, in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania XIX. The bigger heel belittled the Hurricane, putting him down and making him the butt of his jokes and catchphrases - if youve seen The Rock do it once, youve seen him do it a hundred times. The difference was that the Hurricane didnt know the meaning of the word quit, and seemed to have no idea that he was outclassed and outgunned.
