10 Second Generation WWE Stars Who Totally Failed
4. Lanny Poffo
Let us all spare a thought for Lanny Poffo. Not only did he have to live up to the pressue of being the son of Angelo Poffo, a wrestler and promoter from the 1950s and '60s, he was also the brother of Randy Savage, one of the most famous names in the history of the industry.
Lanny's own career wasn't much to write home about, although he did at least manage nearly a decade of continuous employment with WWE between the years 1985 and 1994 (perhaps not so coincidentally ending around the same time as his big bro fell out with Vince McMahon).
He was largely a jobber though, never managing to wear any of the company's title belts despite appearing, as "The Genius", opposite Hulk Hogan in a November 1989 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event.
He briefly appeared in WCW after his departure, but his stint there was even more nondescript. In fact, he didn't manage a single TV appearance in the company - not even as one of those bodyguards who accompanied Goldberg down to the ring. Still got paid to sit at home though. Perhaps he was the winner after all?
