10 Second Generation WWE Stars Who Totally Failed
2. Jesse
It seems harsh to label Jesse a failure given that he was lumbered with such a dead-end gimmick after debuting on WWE's main roster in 2007 (the lyrics to his entrance music included the words "biscuits and gravy", for Heaven's sake).
But then Festus - aka Luke Gallows - has done alright for himself, and he was arguably cast in an even more demeaning role than his tag team partner, who was just a bit dim rather than catatonic for 50% of his time in front of the cameras.
After the duo broke up in 2009, Jesse was recast as Slam Master J, a wannabe rapper who appeared about three times in front of the cameras (and one of them was on Cryme Tyme's web-exclusive show). He then left the company altogether in 2010.
That's a far cry from his Hall of Fame father Terry Gordy, who won titles in All-Japan Pro Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance over the course of a 20-year career in the ring. He even got a five-star match rating from Dave Meltzer in 1988, which as we all know, is nigh-on impossible outside the Tokyo Dome.
