Lance Storm stands as one of the great 'what ifs' of WCW should the promotion not have been purchased by the WWF.

Having arrived in WCW in June 2000, the Calgary native soon won the WCW United States Championship (the Canadian Heavyweight Championship), the WCW Cruiserweight Championship (the 100 kg and Under Championship), and the WCW Hardcore Championship (the Saskatchewan Hardcore International Title).

As the leader of the Team Canada stable, Storm began to sample the main event scene and it seemed like only a matter of time until he added the WCW World Heavyweight Championship to his collection. And then, WCW folded.

The former Impact Player would have a decent run in WWF/WWE, immediately winning the Intercontinental Title before settling into a tag team role, but Lance never got anywhere even close to winning a World Championship during the rest of his career.

Still, it could've been so, so much worse for Lance Storm and for Team Canada. You see, as detailed by Storm himself in 2019, there was at one point creative discussions of revealing that this faction were actually aliens.

It's worth noting that these tentative plans came at a time when Vince Russo and Disco Inferno were on the creative team, and thankfully for Storm and his Team Canada buddies, such an idiotic concept never made it to WCW television.
