10 Serious Problems With WWE Right Now

4. Weak Champions On Top

When WWE announced the brand split was returning, many fans hoped that the company wouldn't repeat one of the most annoying mistakes of the first split - introducing another world championship. Even if the titles were booked well, the simple fact that there were two of them meant that there was no primary championship, and both looked weaker.

Of course, WWE immediately planned on introducing another world championship, and they did it at the first opportunity. Today, the company has the WWE World Championship and the WWE Universal Championship, and neither one feels as important as the WWE World Heavyweight Title did six months ago. In fact, unless something changes, it's hard to imagine either of the current champions defending their belts in the closing match of WrestleMania.

The talent of current champions AJ Styles and Kevin Owens is beyond reproach, but making their situation even worse is the fact that they've been booked poorly. Owens is an afterthought, currently embroiled in a tepid feud with failing babyface Seth Rollins, while Styles, despite being the top worker in the company, has been getting beaten up a lot lately - even by James Ellsworth. Something has to change for the belts to seem like they're worth anything.
