There have been so very many awe-inspiring TLC matches over the years that the sickening chair shots, scary ladder bumps and countless broken tables all just seem to blend together. As a consequence, some incredibly exciting and innovative matches have been overlooked. Take, for example, the 4-Way TLC World Heavyweight Title match from the eponymous 2010 pay-per-view.

World Heavyweight Champion Kane, Alberto Del Rio, Edge and Rey Mysterio (dressed like a member of KISS) did battle amongst the plunder and it was their four contrasting styles and willingness to put their bodies on the line that made this one so good. Kane's WHC run had been, shall we say, pretty damn poor (he had some positively rotten matches with Undertaker), but at least his last defence was a good one.

There were some big, scary bumps in this one. Edge hit a mammoth splash through a table on Kane, from the top of a big ladder in the ring to the outside. Rey and Edge hit stereo face-busters off the top of a big ladder, which must have winded them. The biggest bump of all was reserved for ADR, though, as he was sent off the top of the ladder inside the ring through a table on the outside. He hit the floor with a sickening thud.

In the end, the Rated-R Superstar was able to outlast the others, who lay in ruins at ringside, climbing the rungs to win his seventh and final World Heavyweight Title.
